About ACHF

As the official fundraising body for the Alberta Children’s Hospital, all money raised by the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation is re-invested in child health needs in the hospital and across the region. Through the generosity of our community, we can provide funding for family-centred child health programs, specialized life-saving equipment and advanced pediatric research and education at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. About ACHRI

ACHRI was founded in 2009 as a partnership between the University of Calgary, Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Our shared vision is to support a wide range of research for the health and wellness of children, families and communities.

With more than 350 researchers who are passionate about our children’s health and well-being, some work in laboratories, while others are health care providers at hospitals, clinics and in the community. Our shared goal is to make a difference in the lives of children and their families through new discoveries, better treatments and public health policies.

We couldn’t do what we do without the generous support from our community through the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, and our collaborations with Alberta Heath Services.

Our innovative research strategy is building capacity, integrating research and clinical care, and partnering with our community to solve the most pressing challenges facing children and families here and beyond.

We support researchers by offering research space, leading-edge technologies, expert research services and funding support. We invest in the next generation of scientists through trainee scholarships, knowledge translation opportunities, and a variety of grants

About AHS

Alberta Heath Services (AHS) is proud to be part Canada’s first and largest province-wide, fully integrated health system, responsible for delivering health services to more than 4.4 million people living in Alberta, as well as to some residents of Saskatchewan, B.C. and the Northwest Territories.

AHS has more than 108,600 direct AHS employees (excluding Covenant Health and other contracted service providers) and more than 12,500 staff working in AHS’ wholly-owned subsidiaries such as Alberta Precision Laboratories, Carewest and CapitalCare Group.  AHS is also supported by approximately 12,200 volunteers and more than 10,900 physicians in Alberta, approximately 9,000 of whom are members of the AHS medical staff (including active, temporary, and community appointments).
