This document describes the indications for the safe administration of adenosine for stable children with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) in a general ward setting at Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH) without needing to trigger a code blue activation. An algorithm with relevant clinical considerations as well as guidance on medication, equipment, staffing preparation, and when code blue activation is required, is included.
