Overview

Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura is predominantly a disease seen in young women. It was once almost universally fatal, but with early recognition and treatment the outcome is excellent, but relapses are common. There are very recent International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis guidelines available. (See Key Links)
