Overview
This guideline will look at the use of RBC, platelet and plasma products and establish indications for each product based on review of the best-available evidence. This guideline is focused on transfusion practices in patients admitted to the PICU. Application to patients outside of the PICU must be done with careful clinical considerations and with the addition of any literature to support transfusion practices in patients outside of the PICU.
